Construction Fire Safety Practices

This website was developed by a cooperative effort of ‚Äčan industry-based stakeholders group and Fireforceone. It has been assembled to improve upon fire safety in buildings under construction.

Modern fire protection has three major goals:

Life Safety Is the Top Priority

It consists of building structures that have adequate built in provisions to mitigate or control fires when they occur.

Property Protection

At the public policy level fire loss that is preventable is an economic issue. Fire losses are often reimbursed from insurance companies. These reimbursements don’t always cover the entire loss insured, i.e. lost wages, irreplaceable items, etc. also it is still in the interest of communities to reduce fire losses.

Continuity of Services

A third, and equally important goal is to assure community safety by providing a continuity of its actions to protect the community. This goal means that mitigation created by building and fire codes is intended to create intended capabilities in a community. Loss prevention assures that resources are not prematurely destroyed before they can serve the community. If a community needs a particular project to be completed and remain viable, it cannot afford to have it destroyed just as it is about to become a resource for the community.

Users of this site should also visit and review www.woodaware.com which provides a broad range of fire safety information to building industry and fire service personnel.
